What makes our Hawthorne Split Strainer so special? Our Split Strainer has two slots that are spaced farther apart than the typical strainer which makes it easier to pour two drinks at once. We also make our standard Hawthorne Strainer which has one slot.
Stainless Steel: The body of your strainer is made from 14 gauge 304 Stainless Steel which is thicker than almost all bar tools on the market. The edges of the metal parts are hand-ground so that it feels great in your hand. In the Monte Carlo Collection the steel is hand-polished to a mirror finish. The individual parts of the hawthorne strainer are welded by hand and ground/polished again.
Katalox Handle: The handles in the Monte Carlo Collection are made from Katalox (also known as Mexican Royal Ebony) one of the hardest woods on the planet and then treated with an oil/wax finish. Although it isn’t visible the wood scales are fastened to the metal tang with hidden dowels. An inlaid brass Seaworthy Medallion is the finishing touch. Keep in mind that wood varies in grain and color from piece to piece so your product may look slightly different from the photo.
Strainer Coil: We use a tight stainless steel coil for a very fine strain, which catches almost every bit of citrus pulp, herb particles and ice shards.
Shipping Crate: Your Hawthorne Strainer comes in a custom-fitted, baltic birch gift box that we make in our shop. The sliding lid is sealed shut with a lovely Monte Carlo Collection postage stamp.
