What Makes our Muddler So Special? Every detail of the design was carefully considered. We start with the highest quality, hand-selected hardwood and then hand-craft it in our workshop into a an iconic form that feels great in the hand and is the perfect size for most cocktail-making purposes. The flat sides keep the Muddler from rolling off countertops and bar-tops. The unique wave texture on the bottom of the muddler crushes herbs without shredding them which can lead to bitterness. The wave texture is also easy to clean afterward.
Hand-Crafted Process: Beautiful simplicity often requires more work than you realize. Fabricating our Muddler requires 7 steps: Wood is hand-selected and a blank is fabricated for the lathe; the blank is turned and the top is rounded; the flat sides are hand-planed; the wave texture is cut into the bottom; the engraving is done with a laser; the medallion is glued in place, filed and polished; finally the muddler is coated with an oil/wax finish.
Katalox Hardwood: The Monte Carlo Muddler is made from Katalox (also known as Mexican Royal Ebony) one of the hardest woods on the planet. The naturally oily, close-grained wood resists staining and absorbs minimal moisture. Wood varies in grain and color from piece to piece so your product may look different from the photo.
Shipping Crate: Your Muddler comes in a custom-fitted, baltic birch gift box that we make in our shop. The sliding lid is sealed shut with a lovely Monte Carlo Collection postage stamp.
