The spike tops in the Monte Carlo Collection are hand-turned from Katalox (also known as Mexican Royal Ebony) one of the hardest woods on the planet and then treated with an oil/wax finish. A flat surface is machined into the wooden top to keep the spike from rolling when laid on a surface. The spikes are made from 304 Stainless Steel.
